Day 12 - Wakey wakey!

Dad has been woken this morning and extubated so he's not on the ventilator anymore. Woohoo!

He's still being treated for infection and that seems to be getting better.

He can't do anything with his arm yet though, but at least he's moving in a positive direction.

Thank you Spiderman for the update and the progress sounds promising.
Take care of yourselves, I mean everyone in the family, not just big Alan. Our thoughts are with all of you during this very stressful time.

Great to hear some positive news for a change!!!!!
I'm so glad he's not sedated anymore and that the infection's starting to come right.
These are all really great and positive steps and there'll be more of that down the road to look forward to.
Regardless of what happens, I know Al's fighting spirit and the support of you guys and his mates will get him through this.
All the best
Chris

Great news. Are the nursing staff ready for him?

Nursing staff have been warned - now the fun begins! This afternoon was a nurse who was only relatively new to The Alfred, and didn't speak the best English. Poor girl didn't understand some of the things Dad was saying - in fact I didn't understand some of it!!! I think he's a bit loopy from the drugs...but that'll wear off.

sounds like things are picking up. I'm sure in no time he'll be back to his normal self.
